MEET THE FOUNDER OF MEDDENT ACADEMY

FAIZ PATEL

He is a third-year BDS student at Newcastle University. After navigating two admissions cycles himself, he founded MedDentAcademy to give future medical and dental students the clear, personalised preparation he wished he'd had.

Today, he leads a team of specialist admissions tutors — current medical and dental students who know the process first-hand — and sets the strategy and standards every programme follows. No generic advice, no wasted preparation: each student's coaching is built around their year group, target universities and the areas where they most need to improve.

From UCAT preparation and personal statements to realistic MMI and panel interview simulations, MedDentAcademy has helped students secure offers from universities including King's College London, Leeds, Dundee and Cardiff.

THE CHALLENGE

Does This Sound Like Your Child's Application Journey?

Medicine and dentistry are among the most competitive courses in the UK. Even capable, hard-working students miss out because of gaps they don't yet know how to fix.

Hours of preparation, but no clear plan.

UCAT practice, personal statement drafts and interview questions everywhere — but no structured plan for what their target universities actually look for.

Interviews feel completely unfamiliar.

MMI stations and panel interviews are unlike anything most students have done before. Without realistic practice, there's no way to know how they'll perform on the day.

Confidence disappears under pressure.

They know the material, but struggle to structure answers, reason through ethical scenarios or communicate clearly when the clock is ticking.

THE MEDDENT APPROACH

A Clear Path From Where They Are Now to a University Offer. to performance.

Not just more tutoring. A structured 1-to-1 programme that pinpoints what's holding your child back, builds the right skills and tracks their progress at every stage.

01

Identify what is holding them back.

We start with an in-depth admissions assessment — reviewing their year group, academic profile, target universities and current preparation to pinpoint exactly where they need the most support.

02

Build their personalised roadmap.

Your child gets a roadmap built around their admissions calendar: UCAT, university selection and applications in Year 12, and university-specific MMI and panel interview training in Year 13 — all delivered through private 1-to-1 coaching.

03

PPractise, refine and perform under pressure.

Timed mock interviews, detailed written feedback and regular progress reviews build the technique and confidence they need to perform at their best when it counts.

OUR GUARANTEE

An Offer From Their Target School Or We Keep Supporting Them for Free.

We're confident in our process, so we put our name behind it. If your child attends every scheduled session and completes all of their preparation work but doesn't receive at least 1 offer from one of their target medical or dental schools, we'll keep supporting them at no extra cost.

On our Elite and Ultimate programmes, we continue supporting them for free until they receive an offer. On our Complete Accelerator programmes, we provide additional preparation support for their next application cycle at no extra cost.

Guarantee terms vary by programme and are explained in full before enrolment. Admissions decisions are made independently by universities.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Common questions.

A little more clarity on what personalised medical and dental school admissions support involves.

When should my child start preparing?

Year 12 is the ideal time to start. Our Year 12 programmes run for 6–12 months alongside the admissions calendar, covering UCAT preparation, university selection, the personal statement and interviews. If your child is already in Year 13, our interview programmes run from 4 to 16 weeks depending on their interview dates — even a few weeks of focused preparation can make a real difference.

What's included in the 1-to-1 programmes?

Every programme starts with an admissions assessment and a personalised preparation roadmap. Depending on your child's year group and programme, support includes private 90-minute coaching sessions, UCAT strategy and timed practice, university selection guidance, personal statement feedback, university-specific MMI and panel interview training, structured mock interviews with written feedback, and progress updates for parents. We'll recommend the right level of support on your strategy call.

How do mock interviews work?

Mock interviews are built around the format used by your child's target universities, including MMI stations and traditional panel interviews. Each one is timed and run under realistic conditions, followed by detailed written feedback showing exactly what to improve. Depending on the programme, students complete between 1 and 8 structured mock interview assessments.

Do you support both medicine and dentistry?

Yes. MedDentAcademy provides support for medical and dental school applicants and aims to match students with tutors who understand their chosen pathway and the relevant admissions requirements.

Who will be coaching my child?

Sessions are delivered by MedDentAcademy's specialist admissions tutors — current medical and dental students who have been through the process themselves and are selected for their admissions experience and communication skills. Founder Faiz Patel oversees programme strategy and personally leads strategy calls on our Elite and Ultimate programmes.

What if my child was rejected in a previous application cycle?

Yes — reapplicants are some of the students we help most. We review what happened in their previous cycle and build a focused plan for the next one, covering areas such as interview technique, communication, university selection and how they reflect on past experiences. Our Elite and Ultimate programmes are particularly suited to previous applicants.

Is the support different for Year 12 and Year 13?

Yes. Year 12 programmes cover the full admissions journey — UCAT, university selection, the personal statement and interview preparation — over 6–12 months. Year 13 programmes focus on interview preparation, with university-specific MMI and panel interview training structured around your child's upcoming interview dates.

What happens during the admissions strategy call?

We discuss your child's current academic profile, target course and universities, application progress, upcoming deadlines, preparation strengths and areas of concern. If the programme is suitable, we'll explain which approach fits their needs and how support works.

Should both a parent and student attend the call?

Ideally, yes. Hearing directly from the student helps us understand their confidence, experiences and preparation challenges, while the parent can raise questions about the programme and practical arrangements.

What happens if my child struggles to perform under pressure?

We use structured answer frameworks, challenging scenarios, timed mock interviews and personalised feedback to help students improve the way they think and communicate under pressure. Progress is reviewed so practice remains targeted.

How does your guarantee work?

Before enrolment, we agree your child's target universities and preparation plan. As long as they attend all scheduled sessions and complete their assigned preparation work, you're covered:

• On our Elite and Ultimate programmes, if your child doesn't receive at least 1 offer from one of their target medical or dental schools, we continue supporting them for free until they do.

• On our Complete Accelerator programmes, we provide additional preparation support for their next application cycle at no extra cost.

• On our shorter programmes, if your child doesn't show measurable improvement against their initial assessment, we provide additional coaching sessions free of charge.

Admissions decisions are made independently by universities, and full guarantee terms are explained before enrolment.
